OWNED
BY OUR CUSTOMERS
As
a not for profit utility organized, owned, and governed by its
consumers, Clarke Electric allocates back to its member-owners
the profits (margin allocations) that result after expenses
are tabulated and audited at the end of the year. The returns
are made annually in relationship to the amount of dollars a
member has paid for cooperative's services. These margin allocations
(also called patronage dividends) are held for 20 years by the
cooperative to serve as resources for reinvestment in the distribution
system.
Capital
credits are returned in the form of a credit on their December
bill for existing members. For past members, a check is issued
to them at their last known physical address. Please make sure
you keep the cooperative informed of your current address in
order to receive your checks.
