In 2011, Clarke Electric Cooperative and the Iowa Area Development Group were instrumental in attracting Valley of the Moon Commercial Poults, Inc. to Osceola. Located in CEC’s Industrial Park, Valley of the Moon is a $16.7 million, 86,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility now producing up to 50 million turkey eggs annually. Locating in Osceola provides the company a central position to the turkey farmers in the Midwest, Eastern and Western United States. The hatchery employs about 50 people and contracts with production farms that have been added to the rural community.
