SHINE

SHINE is a group of students from Corydon and Seymour schools.  The 12 members represent 8th-12th grade students from each school.  The purpose of this group is to learn and practice philanthropic skills including learning how to give your time, talent or money to help other people, or to help make communties a better place to live.

Clarke Electric Cooperative has supported the SHINE youth group with matching funds for a period of five years.  SHINE holds fundraisers to earn money to match Clarke Electric's donations.

SHINE sets yearly goals to complete as an organization, including Adopt-a-Highway cleanup, trail cleanup community service for the nursing home, painting playground equipment, among others.  Another goal is to give money to local community projects supporting positive community development.
